Bridging the healthcare gap for 2SLGBTQ+ people
Across Canada, 2SLGBTQ+ people face higher levels of poverty.
2SLGBTQ+ people can face discrimination when receiving healthcare services.
There are not enough affirming and knowledgeable healthcare providers for 2SLGBTQ+ people.
Trans and non-binary people face long wait times to get appropriate healthcare.
Where culturally-competent healthcare services exist, some provinces do not fund them.
The Connect Fund can change all that.
We pay for care for those who need it. The Connect Fund is just getting started! Our first priority is to get trans and non-binary people the care they urgently need.
The Connect Fund will give money to people for:
- Appointments with an affirming hormone provider (virtual)
- Chest surgery costs that aren’t covered
- Post-surgical supplies
- Sperm and egg freezing
- Facial hair removal
- Mental health support
- Surgery assessments (virtual)
